Family Counseling Services of Greater Miami - $7,500

To create a resource guide to meet the special needs of older parents and caregivers who have custody of children with mental health and emotional needs.  

 

Farmworker Association of Florida - $7,500

To support community organizing work in the Homestead area of Miami-Dade County around the issues of pesticide safety, environmental health, farmworker political action, disaster preparedness and a Latino Small Farmers project.

 

Fellowship House - $9,000

To reinstate the Phoenix Club program which is a weekly, extra-curricular social outing opportunity for severely mentally ill adult men and women. 

 

Florida Heart Research Institute, Inc. - $7,500

To support Working to Health, a worksite wellness program targeting small and mid-sized businesses. The project is designed to positively impact the bottom line, reduce sick time, increase retention, recruitment and employee morale.  

 

Florida Immigrant Advocacy Center - $10,000

To support Nou Kab, meaning 'We Can' which provides legal representation and education to Haitian immigrant women and girls who are victims of domestic violence. Nou Kab encourages and empowers Haitian women and girls to change their lives by helping them apply for legal status without sponsorship of their abuser and obtain work permits to support their families. 

 

Food for Life Network - $7,500

To help reduce the risk of malnutrition and AIDS-related wasting syndrome in low-income individuals living with HIV/AIDS. The program includes providing them with nutritionally complete groceries, meals and nutritional counseling needed to make healthy living choices and maintain sound nutritional practices.
