Leo & Raye Chestler Contemporary Visual Arts Award

In memory of Leo and Raye Chestler, four $1,000.00 awards are to be given to qualified, contemporary visual artists working in a juried art center.  Jeremy Chestler established the Chestler Contemporary Visual Arts Award Fund as a way to pay tribute to his grandfather, Leo R. Chestler.  The elder Chestler is most remembered as a giving person, a dedicated family man.  His grandson commented, 'I wanted to honor my grandfather and felt that a charitable fund in his name would serve as a living legacy to a great and caring man.' As a memorial in loving memory to his grandmother after her passing in spring 2004, Raye now appears in the Fund's name. Raye was also deeply dedicated to her family and 'it seemed appropriate to honor her legacy of love and caring by adding her name to the Fund, re-uniting her with my grandfather,' Jeremy added. Postmark deadline is April 16, 2008.   GUIDELINES
