and local funders to increase the availability of private funds to address gaps in the local HIV/AIDS service system, particularly in the area of prevention. The Community AIDS Partnership represents one of the major sources of private philanthropic funds for HIV prevention in Miami-Dade County. As the result of a public/private partnership with Miami-Dade County, the Foundation also awards $350,000 in county funds, which represents a significant increase in the local public sector's commitment to funding HIV prevention.
The Foundation works closely with local HIV/AIDS planning bodies to shape funding priorities for the Partnership. The Foundation seeks to respond to the most critical HIV prevention needs in the community and to address emerging needs as the impact and nature of the AIDS epidemic in Greater Miami continues to change.
Through the Community AIDS Partnership, the Foundation supports quality programs that respond to the local population risk profile and that incorporate strategies with the greatest potential to effectively address the priority populations, communities and service needs related to HIV prevention in Miami-Dade County.
