Hep-C Alert - $9,000  To support Prevention Plus a program to prevent Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infections amongst vulnerable minority women through a comprehensive offering of education and targeted HPV vaccinations. This pilot program would then be integrated into Hep-C's current roster of counseling, testing, vaccination and linkage to services.

His House Children's Home - $7,500
To effectively recruit, train and place new volunteers who will assist with the implementation of on site program components. These activities include reading programs, recreational activities, homework assistance, direct care of infants and toddlers, service projects, outing supervision and mentorship.

Hosanna Community Foundation - $6,800

To support a Youth Leadership Project which provides academic/tutorial skill building, life skills training, community service projects. The project also provides parent/child workshops in an effort to provide long-term assistance for at-risk youth. 

 

Human Services Coalition of Dade County - $5,000

To support a series of health care access summits and other activities to bring together those who provide services, those who access services and those who care about health care. The events are designed to create a process of capacity building, information sharing and coalition building.

 

Informed Families / The Florida Family Partnership - $7,000

To support M.A.P.S. (Mothers As Prevention Specialists) a parent-coaching model designed specifically for women/mothers who reside at Miami Rescue Mission's Center for Women and Children. The program will provide participants with critical parenting tools to assist them in navigating through the challenging adolescent/teen years. It will also assist them in raising their children in a safe, healthy and drug-free environment..

 

ITWomen - $6,800

To expand the Role Models Speakers' Program a program designed to attract female students in Miami-Dade County Public Schools into the field of Information Technology. The expansion will be accomplished through improved membership recruitment, market awareness and program development. 

 

Jewish Museum of Florida - $10,000

To help facilitate a series of activities using the arts to engage the community in intergenerational educational programs in conjunction with the exhibit: The Art of Aging.
