During this time she reinstated her Ph.D. in Education, completed her Masters in Education at the University of Miami and received certification as a mathematics and Spanish junior high school teacher. She also dedicated her life to social work, a field in which she excelled and demonstrated her concern for others. She focused her energy on assisting the elderly and young people suffering substance abuse as well as the concerns of Haitian refugees and agricultural field workers. The Dr. Olga Maria Martinez Fund will continue this extraordinary woman's tradition of giving.
