Board of Governors

Dade Community Foundation is governed by a twenty-one member Board of Governors, which establishes policy, oversees financial management, and approves grants and awards. Members serve without compensation and for a maximum of two terms of three years. They are selected for their judgment, integrity, understanding of philanthropic needs, and diverse knowledge of the Greater Miami area. This group of distinguished community leaders represents Greater Miami's diversity as they serve as the source of the Foundation's intellectual capital, providing sage advice and demonstrating their commitment to community.

Officers:

Richard Milstein, Esq. (Chair) is a shareholder in the Miami office of Akerman, Senterfitt & Eidson, P.A. He serves on the board of the SAVE DADE Foundation, Inc., and is counsel to the Performing Arts Center Trust. He has received numerous awards, including the Florida Supreme Court Tobias Simon Pro Bono Service Award in 1996.

Maricarmen Martinez, A.I.A. (Secretary) is principal of Upstairs Studio, Inc. Architects and a member of the Inaugural Class of the Miami Fellows Initiative, a Foundation Special Initiative. She is Co-Chair of the Bicentennial Park Design Committee, member of the current class of International Women's Forum Leadership Foundation Fellows, and a Board member of Arango Design Foundation, among other civic organizations.

Richard Lavina (Treasurer) is Senior Vice President of La Salle Bank N.A., and serves on the advisory board of the Miami Museum of Science and the Epiphany School Financial Review Committee.

Keith Ward (Treasurer)is founder of Quality Management North America, Inc., and has over 20 years experience in Florida commercial real state. He is a former assistant to the late Senator Claude Pepper, Miami District Office.

John R. Anzivino, CPA is the principal in charge of Kaufman, Rossin & Co.'s Estate, Trust, and Exempt Organization Department. His community involvement includes service on the boards of the College Assistance Program, Fairchild Tropical Garden, Leave a Legacy, and the Planned Giving Council of Miami-Dade County.

Jorge A. Dominicis is Vice President of Corporate Relations for Florida Crystals Corporation, and a former policy coordinator with the Florida House of Representatives. He serves on the Board of Directors of the United Way of Palm Beach County, and a former Chair of the Palm Beach County Workforce Development Board among other organizations.

Marsha B. Elser, Esq. is a Marital and Family lawyer. Ms. Elser has served as President of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and Chairperson of the Judicial Nominating Commission for the Eleventh Judicial Circuit in Miami-Dade County.
