Board of Governors

Dade Community Foundation is governed by a twenty-one member Board of Governors, which establishes policy, oversees financial management, and approves grants and awards. Members serve without compensation and for a maximum of two terms of three years. They are selected for their judgment, integrity, understanding of philanthropic needs, and diverse knowledge of the Greater Miami area. This group of distinguished community leaders represents Greater Miami's diversity as they serve as the source of the Foundation's intellectual capital, providing sage advice and demonstrating their commitment to community.

Officers

George W. Foyo (Chair) is the Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer for Baptist Health South Florida. Mr. Foyo is responsible for human resources, general counsel, construction management, and government and community relations. Prior to joining BCBSF, he was president and CEO of the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce; president of DIRECTV Latin America; and president and managing director for AT&T's Caribbean and Latin America region. Mr. Foyo is very active in community and professional organizations.

Jorge Luis Lopez, Esq. (Vice Chair) is a government contracts attorney who has represented the Miami-Dade County Government before the State of Florida. His community involvement includes service with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Miami and Mercy Hospital.

Juan C. Antunez, Esq. (Secretary) was an Articles Editor for the Annual Survey of American Law. Prior to joining Stokes McMillan & Maracini P.A., Mr. Antunez was the Associate General Counsel for Telemundo, a national Spanish-language television network headquartered in Hialeah, Florida. His practice areas cover estate planning, asset protection and corporate law. Prior to law school, Mr. Antunez was a member of the United States Marine Corps Reserve from 1987 to 1993, including duty during the Gulf War. He was awarded the Combat Action Ribbon, Kuwaiti Liberation Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and Meritorious Unit Citation.

Liebe Gadinsky (Treasurer) is a community leader with an extensive resume of service. Mrs. Gadinsky has distinguished herself as a strong supporter and advocate for human rights. Through her volunteer work for SAVE Dade she worked tirelessly to pass and defend the Miami Dade Human Rights Ordinance. Last year, she was appointed to serve on the Foundation's GLBT Community Project Fund Advisory Board. Her active engagement helped secure the first year success of this special grant making initiative as it provides support to local organizations serving the community.

Board Members:

John R. Anzivino, C.P.A. is the principal in charge of Kaufman, Rossin & Co.'s Estate, Trust, and Exempt Organization Department. His community involvement includes service on the boards of the College Assistance Program, The Estate Planning Council, Fairchild Tropical Garden, Leave a Legacy, and the Planned Giving Council of Miami-Dade County.


Sergio Bendixen is an expert in Hispanic public opinion research in the United States and Latin America. Sergio Bendixen spent 14 years working as a national-television political analyst for four chief: S.I.N., Univision, CNN en Espanol and Telemundo. His polls and writings have been featured in Newsweek, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post and The Miami Herald.
